Story

The first time Kavya saw Vikram, she was leading a group of friends through the narrow lanes of the Blue City on what she called a 'heritage walk.' He was supposed to be photographing Mehrangarh Fort but couldn't stop photographing her instead.

A mutual friend introduced them that evening over masala chai at a rooftop cafe overlooking the fort. They talked until the stars came out and the city lights below them looked like scattered gold. By the end of the night, they both knew this was the beginning of something extraordinary.

Two years of long-distance calls between Jodhpur and Mumbai, countless weekend flights, and one unforgettable proposal at the same rooftop cafe where it all began. He got down on one knee just as the sun set behind the fort, and she said yes before he could even open the ring box.

How did you two first meet?

See Our Story!

Who made the first move, and how did it happen?

Kavya — he 'accidentally' showed up at Vikram's heritage walk three weekends in a row. She finally asked him if he was stalking her or just really liked old buildings.

Who's taking the bins out?

Whoever's nearest the bin :)

What's been your most memorable date?

A midnight desert safari in Jaisalmer. We got lost, the jeep broke down, and we spent three hours under the stars waiting for help. It was the most romantic breakdown ever.

What's your favourite thing to do together?

Exploring old havelis and forts. We've visited every heritage site within 500km of Jodhpur.

Where are you off to for your honeymoon?

Anywhere with stunning palaces! Perhaps Udaipur first, then maybe Italy — Rajasthan of Europe, as Kavya calls it.

What's the best meal you've shared together?

Dal baati churma at a tiny dhaba outside Pushkar. Nothing fancy, but we still talk about it.

Things To Do

Some ideas for fun things to do while you're in Jodhpur.

Mehrangarh Fort

One of the largest forts in India, perched 400 feet above the city. The views of the Blue City from the ramparts are absolutely breathtaking. Allow at least 2-3 hours to explore.

Plan your visit →

Experience

Blue City Heritage Walk

Wander through the cobalt-painted lanes of the old city, discover hidden temples, and meet the artisans who keep Jodhpur's craft traditions alive. Best experienced in the early morning light.

Palace

Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum

The venue for our wedding also houses a fascinating museum. Art deco architecture, vintage cars, and royal memorabilia — a perfect way to spend an afternoon.

Adventure

Desert Safari at Osian

Take a camel ride into the Thar Desert at sunset. The sand dunes turn golden in the evening light, and if you're lucky, you'll catch a folk music performance under the stars.

Travel

✈️

Getting Here

We recommend flying into Jodhpur Airport (JDH). It has direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. The airport is just 15 minutes from the venue.

🚗

Getting into Town

Uber and Ola are available in Jodhpur. Auto-rickshaws are everywhere and great for short trips. We'll arrange pickup from the airport for outstation guests — just share your flight details!

Travel Tips

February is the best time to visit Jodhpur — expect pleasant weather around 15-25°C. The fort and old city are best explored on foot. We recommend arriving by Feb 12 to enjoy the city before the festivities begin. Rooms have been reserved at Raas Jodhpur and Taj Hari Mahal — mention 'Kavya & Vikram Wedding' when booking.
