Dear you

We Kept Everything

Ticket stubs, train tickets, the napkin with the first phone number on it. Riya and Sahil have been keeping a scrapbook since the very first date — and the best page is still to come. We would love for you to be in it.

The Wedding Venue

Dinner, dancing, and a table of blank pages waiting for your handwriting.

Getting there

Travel & Stay

The wedding is in Mumbai, an hour or so from both airports depending on the traffic — which is to say, leave early.

The Venue

The Wedding Venue — the garden for the pheras, the hall for the reception.

Getting Here

Fly into Mumbai (BOM). We will share cab numbers and a WhatsApp group for lifts.

Where to Stay

Rooms are held at two hotels close to the venue — mention our names for the family rate.

Bring a Camera

Any camera. We want the blurry, wonky, real photos for the scrapbook.

Our Favourite Corners

Kala Ghoda

Galleries, bookshops and the café where we wrote the guest list.

Chor Bazaar

Old cameras, film posters and brass — our scrapbook supplies.

Marine Drive at Dusk

Sit on the wall, eat bhutta, watch the lights come on.

The Mandwa Ferry

An hour across the harbour — and where he asked.

For the book

Fill a Page

There will be blank pages at the reception. Here is what to write, if you need a nudge — or bring your own page from home.

Card 01

The best advice anyone gave you about marriage

“never go to bed angry. stay up and fight.”

Card 02

A recipe you want us to learn

nani’s rajma, with the secret step

Card 03

A song for our first year

something we can dance badly to

Card 04

Where we should go on our tenth anniversary

somewhere with a ferry, obviously

Card 05

Your favourite memory of either of us

the time he locked himself out in a towel

Card 06

A drawing. Any drawing.

stick figures are welcome

The post box

Leave your page in the red post box by the cake table. We will paste every single one into the book — and read them all on our first anniversary.

From the Scrapbook

pages we couldn’t leave out

An old notebook with an old photo and a sprig of flowers

A typewriter with a sheet that says write something

A scrapbook collage of flowers and notes

Good to know

Questions & Answers

What should I wear?

Festive Indian or smart Western — and something you would like to see in a photo for the next fifty years.

Do I have to write a page?

Not at all. But we will be very touched if you do, and pens will be everywhere.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Please do! The more the better — we will ask you to share them in the WhatsApp group.

Is there parking?

Valet at the venue for both days. Cabs are easiest — traffic is, well, Mumbai.

Can I bring a plus one?

Please check your invitation — if a guest is included, their name will be on it.

Still have a question?

Both families are happy to help — call or WhatsApp either of us.

Gifts

A Page Is Plenty

A handwritten page means more to us than anything wrapped. If you would still like to give something, we have a small registry.
